Happy Halloween~~!

Rina smiled and giggled into her hand as she was listening to the group of girls get scared by their guy friends. She loved Halloween, listening to all the laughter as the younger children were given candy, and the other teenagers going to costume parties.
"Hey! That's not funny!" she heard a girl, from the afore mentioned group, yell at one of the guys, while laughing.
Rina smiled. Halloween was always so nice. 'Well that is, as long as you're not the one being scared' she thought to herself.
"I wonder if anyone I really know, or would like to meet is having fun nearby" she muttered "Guess I'll just have to wait and see...or rather hear"
So she sat down on the fountain, and smoothed out her sky blue dress, listening to see if she'd hear any familiar names.

Tsuizo frowned. He thought Halloween was a little silly. Dressing up in ridiculous costumes just to go out and receive free candy from strangers? It was just silly. And noisy.
'What's the point of all this really. To be scared? Why would someone actually WANT to be scared like that...'
He watched the children (and even people his age, as well as adults) having fun with their candy and costumes with a raised eyebrow. He could understand the children, but people his age? Really? People from his school as well.
He frowned and continued walking. He was only outside for the zombie costumes. And he had only seen one this year. He sighed and tried to stay out of the paths of other people.
There were some lights set up near a fountain; he decided that much light was enough to read, and sat down.

Rina stood up and started to walk around on the edge of the fountain, seeing as it was possible that no one else was sitting on the edge. As she was walking around on the edge she put her foot down but, because someone was sitting there, she stepped on their lap and fell onto the ground.
"Oww......" she mumbled as she lay there trying to decide whether to hold her knee in pain or to stand up and clean off her dress.
'Who's sitting there anyway?' she thought to herself 'To think, I didn't notice them until I stepped on their lap...'
She finally decided to stand up and clean off her dress, and so she did just that. She faced the person, or what she was assuming was at least in the person's direction. But seeing as she didn't even know which way she fell, she wasn't exactly facing their direction...more like a little off to the side...
"Hi there!" she said cheerfully as she stuck out her hand "I'm Rina!"

Tsuizo sighed yet again. He opened his book and began reading, trying to block out the sound from around him.
He brushed his hair away from his eye-the one not covered by his eyepatch-and turned the page.
Tsuizo had gotten through a rather small portion of his book, when he suddenly felt a dull pain in his legs. It had taken him a moment to realize that a girl had been walking around the edge of the fountain, not noticed him somehow, stepped on his lap and fallen to the ground.
'Miss?'
He closed his book and looked up.
"Hi there! I'm Rina!" she said. She wasnt exactly facing him, it was like she was talking to the fountain. She stuck her hand out for a handshake.
Tsuizo blinked. He wondered why she wasnt facing him, couldn't she see?
'Um I'm a little more to the left. Or are you really talking to a stone dolphin with minor graffiti on it?'
Tsuizo raised an eyebrow. This girl was oddly cheerful. He wasn't sure he could trust her.

Rina turned her head towards the sound of the, who she was assuming was male, person's voice.
"Oh..." she said quietly "Sorry 'bout that"
She faced him fully and stuck out her hand, again, saying "Like I said I'm Rina, sorry if I confused you, I'm..." she waved her other hand in front of her face "Blind"
"Oh and I'm sorry about stepping on your lap..." she trailed off rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.
'Great first impression Rina...' she thought sarcastically
"What's your name?" she asked still holding her hand out.

Tsuizo blinked and watched the girl with uncertainty.
'...'
'no problem...
He shook her hand with a weak grip; he wasn't sure if he was comfortable talking to this girl yet.
When she said she was blind, tsuizo squinted and looked hard at her eyes. It was a little hard to tell with the lack of light, but her eyes were clouded over. She Was blind.
Tsuizo wasn't sure how he felt about that.
He swallowed and bit his lip.
'I'm fine, is no problem...Tsuizo. Shimada Tsuizo.'
'Are... Are you okay? You fell.'
He fiddled with the ends of his scarf; awaiting her answer. It may be a little unusual to wear a scarf in relatively warm weather, but since he had recently gotten a haircut, the scars on his neck were more easily seen. Even though it was dark, he didn't want to risk anyone seeing the scars.

Rina smiled and took her hand back, scratching her cheek.
"Yeah I'm fine, just a little scrapes and bruises, nothing major" she answered.
"So.." she trailed off sitting next to him "What are you up to? Not to intrude or anything"
She smiled again closing her eyes, and listening to the laughter like she was doing earlier.
"Halloween is so nice" she said, more to herself "Don't you think so?"

'scrapes and bruises can get infected you know. You could get scars.' tsuizo thought; but he didn't say a word.
He watched the girl as she sat down next to him on the fountain edge, and fiddled with his scarf again. He didn't trust her presence yet.
'...What am I up to? I was reading. I might leave, go home soon. It's a little dark for reading.'
Tsuizo looked down at his book and wondered if he would actually finish it tonight, like he planned.
Tsuizo was arranging his thoughts and re-planning his evening, and he didn't realize that Rina was speaking.
"...don't you think so?"
'Hm? I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that...'

Rina opened her eyes and turned her head to face Tsuizo, and started to laugh.
"I'm sorry, it's just....hahaha nevermind...haha" she managed once she had managed to only giggle a little bit.
"I'm suprised you caught any of that" she said still giggling a little
"In fact I'm a little suprised you have yet to leave..." she muttered.
"I was really talking to myself but I said, Halloween is so nice, don't you think so?"

Tsuizo turned his head to the girl and frowned slightly. Why was she laughing? At him, no less...
He blinked averted his eyes, and yet again began fiddling with his scarf.
'Surprised...?'
He wondered what she meant by "In fact I'm a little surprised you have yet to leave" and frowned.
Did she not want his company?
She was the one that began talking to him in the first place...
'...Actually I don't really like Halloween. Too noisy. And to be honest it seems a little silly.'
Even though she couldn't see him, he turned his head away.
He brushed some of hair behind his ear and looked around at all the people exited for the event of 'Halloween'. He still couldn't see any zombies.
He was disappointed.
'actually only reason I'm even outside tonight is for the zombies but I have only seen one so far...'

"Yeah I'm surprised, not that I don't enjoy your company, it's just not many people want to hang out with a blind girl you know?"
She was a little surprised when Tsuizo said he didn't really like Halloween.
"Well I can understand that, but I just like listening to people being happy and enjoying themselves!" she said smiling again
"It's like just hearing other people happy, makes me happy...basically I like it because the happiness is contagious!" she said jumping up and standing on the fountain.
She soon plopped back down on the edge "Zombies? Well I have no idea what they look like but, I imagine they're pretty scary...." she trailed off, putting a finger on her chin.

'...Why would that be? You're just like everybody else, you just can't see. Not at least the same way I do.'
Tsuizo looked down at his shoes and kicked away a small piece of wrapped candy near his right foot.
Tsuizo shrugged. He didn't really think happiness was contagious.
But if Rina thought so, and he didn't think anything would change her mind, nor did he see the point in changing her mind...
'If you say so...'
He looked back at her.
'I suppose there would lots of different types of zombies... They are the living dead. Some may have been dead longer than others... And scary? Zombies are supposed to be scary. They eat brains y'know.'
Tsuizo smiled. He just thought zombies were awesome.

"Yeah well at my old schools people would tease me because I couldn't see, not sure why, but I don't really care" she said shrugging.
She smiled 'He must just not be too optimistic' she thought
"Well if I remember correctly... I heard there was a halloween party tonight over at the school...." she said trailing off "Maybe you could see a zombie or two there!"

'Tease you because you couldn't see? That's a little...'
Tsuizo looked around again, at the loud children throwing candy at each other.
He felt a cold breeze, and pulled his scarf up to cover part of his face in an attempt to keep warm.
'A Halloween party...? At Raira...?'
Tsuizo wasn't really sure if he wanted to go.
If it was a party, there would most likely be a lot of people there. And lots of people meant lots of noise...
Though Rina had a good point, there may be a few zombies there...
Tsuizo thought for a moment, and hesitantly replied.
'I'll go for a little bit...If there aren't any zombies I think I will just go home and read, maybe study.

'Well that's cool" Rina said smiling
"When are you going to go?" she asked curiously "Not that I'm running you off or anything"
She actually enjoyed Tsuizo's comapny, but she had the feeling he was keeping her at a distance. She just shrugged it off, and listened to the laughter again.

Tsuizo just stared.
'When am I going to... Go?'
He hadn't exactly worked that out yet.
Maybe to go now was best, so that he could see the zombies, then go home, finish his book, and maybe do some studying before he went to sleep.
He leaned forward a bit, to redo a shoelace that had come undone.
If he didn't have his shoelaces done up, he could trip, fall, hurt himself, and he might get new scars on top of the old ones.
He leant back again, and fidgeted.
He wondered if Rina would come with him, or if she would stay in the park.
'not sure, I suppose. Maybe now, or soon at least would be good.

"Oh...well would you would mind if I came with you?" Rina asked a little nervously.
She wasn't really used to asking if she could go somewhere with someone, usually they would have been gone by now and she would have just been left there to talk to herself.
'He seems nice enough...'

Tsuizo blinked. He wouldn't mind the company, even if he didn't trust her yet. He didn't expect her to ask.
Tsuizo put his book into his old and worn messenger bag and stood up. He slung the bag over his shoulder and stifled a yawn.
'Why not. You'd like to come?'
He began walking in the direction to Raira, staring at his shoes.
As he walked, he counted the candy he saw on the ground.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight...
And he got bored with counting.
He paused to look back at Rina.
'you are coming, right?'

Rina jumped up and quickly ran over to stand beside Tsuizo.
"Yeah I'll come"
She put her hands behind her back and headed in the direction of the academy.
