The Beat Of The Coffee Shop Deal [Linda, Kasuka]

"So, tell me about your new movie. I'll shoot some ideas and can plan a song accordingly to what you need, alright?" Linda sat with his guitar next to him, in the coffee shop.

He played calmly upon the outside, but inside he was extremely excited. How many people could honestly say they were sitting across from the famous actor Yuhei Hanejima, let alone discussing composing music for him? This was just...and opportunity of a lifetime.

"It's an action movie, but the particular scene is supposed to be a sad one, where the main character's little brother dies."

he didn't say much more about the movie, his face neutral. He wasn't supposed to reveal much about the movie. Spoilers and people could mooch off the idea.

"Ahh, alright then. Do you want vocals for the song or just an instrumental? Either can work for the scene you wanna do."

Linda was already drafting up sad chords in his head as possible parts to the song. Of course everything would have to be put down in paper and he'd have to mess around with instruments and the tunes in real time, but, it didn't harm to do a little pre-drafting in his head.

"Either is fine. I believe that the company would prefer soft vocals, but as long as it fits, it fits."

"Soft vocals, got it. Now, on the direction the song would take, do you want it to be particularly depressing focusing on the death or more hopeful and memorable while still maintaining a sad feel?" Linda was making mental notes of all of this. When it came to music, he would remember.

Kasuka closed his eyes, thinking about it. What would fit? Well, what was with the movie? Perhaps he should ask.

"I don't know. I'm not that good with emotions. Usually, I just play the part that they tell me. Perhaps I could tell you about the scene though, and then you can decide."

"Sounds like a gameplan Yuhei." Linda nodded, skillfully slinging his gutair around his neck and over one shoulder.

Usually with something like this he would come up with about three or so different melodies and they would roll from there. In the end they would have the main music to the song and then vocals could be added.

Kasuka closed his eyes again. Alright. Brother dead. About to battle. People falling around. Hint of foreshadowing. Sad ending. They all die. Ah, but he shouldn't say the ending, right?

"The scene has the brother dead. This is an action movie. They're about to battle. And it's supposed to foreshadow the sad ending. Is that enough?"

Kasuka really didn't know what more to add without ruining the plot, as well as giving it away to those who may be listening to steal the idea away.

"That's enough." Linda mentally noted everything that Kasuka told him, stashing it away for future reference. When it came to music and a deal as big as this, he knew he could rely on his own mental memory.

"Since his brother is dead, I was thinking something that starts off with a sad slow beat, and then generally rises into a bitter sort of loud action piece. What do you think?" He was formulating beats in his head as he said this.

Kasuka just nodded, his face still blank.

"It sounds good. I don't know how any co-workers may think, but I like it."

"Well, we can always shoot the idea at them. I prefer to formulate a few basic song ideas and see what they like, and the best one we can turn into a song. Would you prefer to come back to the studio and listen or do you want me to just email them to you?" Linda, looked engaged. This seemed to be the best way to do it.

"Whichever you think is best, really."

"Well honestly, I'm fine with either. Which ever is easiest for you~" The radiant blonde replied cheerfully.

"I can do either just fine. Though, your opinion is probably better."

He wasn't very emotional at all.

"Well I'll just email them to you then, to make things easier." Linda finally decided, biting his lip unconsciously.

Kasuka nodded once.

"Thank you, Linda. It's kind of you."

At least he thought so.

"Ah, it's not really a big deal. Whatever makes it easiest for the one who gave me such and awesome opportunity~" Linda winked, flashing a thankful smile.

"You said you'd email it, right? I suppose you need my email then."

"Oh, yeah, I suppose that would help." Linda laughed a bit, sweatdropping at his own forgetfulness.

Kasuka grabbed a napkin and a pen before writing down an email.

"Here. Please don't give this to anyone."

It was Yuhei Hanejima's email, after all.

"I wouldn't dare! Well, it was nice doing business with you Yuuhei, and thank you for giving me such an amazing opportunity~" Linda smiled sweetly at the other, bowing just a bit as he clutched the napkin in his hand.
