[Open RP] Shamisen Player

Subject: [Open RP] Shamisen Player Tue Sep 04, 2012 1:36 pm

It wasn't a particularly sunny day in the city today. The skies were filled with heavy clouds, ready to pour down upon the tall skyscrapers and the people sprinting about the place. Everything seemed dreary, morose; the kind of day better spent indoors.

It was lonesome outside, one of those days that was surprising to find others outdoors. And yet the click clacking of sandals upon the side walk could be heard in the park. The gentle swish of a kimono could be seen between the trees. A white string instrument could be sighted, held like a valuable treasure in the man's arms.

A weary azure gaze looked around the park, in his hands, his beloved shamisen. He walked his way to the deepest portion of the park, to a fountain on its own. He sat down quietly, positioning himself comfortably before he began to play. And when he played, his worries seemed to melt away, stress leaving him as he lost himself in the traditional, serene sound.

Toshio blinked, staring up at the sky. He sighed, looks like he was going to have to move. The boy frowned, watching people scatter and push their way through crowds in case of rain. Can't they just walk to where they need to go? Most of them had umbrellas anyway. He stuck his tongue out. He was so hungry, but all the places were going to be harder to get things from. Besides, wouldn't the "no shoes, no service" apply to him? The boy wanted to cry, the world was mean.

He continued walking, he was a good ways away from West Gate park by now. Toshio looked around, he was starting to get close to South Ikebukuro Park. The brunet blinked. Was that music? It was faint, but he could still hear it. He hummed, trying to figure out which direction it was coming from. He walked around a bit, being careful that the occasionally pedestrian didn't knock him down as he tried to find where the music was coming from. Toshio smiled a bit, looking around to see if he could find someone playing, the music was pretty calming.

He hummed, starting to feel a few drops of water on his head. Toshio ran over to one of the trees and sat under it, getting a little protection from the rain. He looked across to see a blonde man playing a Shamisen. Wait, was that Shizuo Heiwajima? He smiled, so even Shizuo had a nice side. He continued to listen to the music, the rain was starting to come down though. "Mr. Shizuo!" he called, his voice a bit raspy. "It's starting to rain!"

Tsugaru looked up at the name. How commonplace, yet another soul confusing him for the great and legendary cousin of his. Tsugaru looked up at the rain a moment before resuming to play. The rain was no bother to him.

It was very soothing, like rain in the desert or food after a long day. He gentle twang of the shamisen was what got him through the weather. No matter how terrible it may seem, there was always the nice escape that music brought.

Tsugaru looked over to the other before sighing. He would shorten his playing time, at least to let the stranger be rest assured that he was not going to catch a cold in the foul weather.

Toshio frowned a little when he heard the man stop playing. The music was really relaxing and calming. His frown changed into a small smile, at lease he wouldn't get sick. Then again, how was he going to get home? Mr. Heiwajima would get soaked, he didn't even have an umbrella on him.

The boy frowned, the rain started to get to him through his temporary shelter. He got up and tried to figure out where to go. An awning? A store? He sighed, there was a huge chance of him getting sick tonight.

Tsugaru walked over slowly, his mellow mood, unchanging. It was pleasant to be in the rain, the warm droplets falling down slowly at the moment. The other looked to be pondering, of what, it was no doubt personal.

Still, he walked up to the other and paused before him. "Excuse me, but I was planning to go to the court building to play. Would you care to join me?"

He had enjoyed the fact he had had someone to listen to him play.

Toshio blinked and turned to the blonde. He stared up at him with his big childish eyes. He didn't act like the Shizuo most people talked about. Then again, most people were wrong about a lot of thing. He of all people should know that by now.

The boy smiled a bit and nodded. "Sure!" he exclaimed. This would be fun! He would be able to get out of the rain and be able to hear the blonde play some more. "Where's the court building though?" he asked, tilting his head to the side a bit. Toshio knew a few places around Ikebukuro, but they were mostly places that kids tend to hang around. He didn't know about every little detail of the city like most people.

"The court building is a few blocks over." Tsugaru smiled a bit more as he saw the smile on the boy's features. He turned and began to head away.

"If you don't mind, I can lead us both over there."

Toshio hummed and nodded, showing that he understood. He trotted after the blonde till he was walking right next to him. The boy smiled up at the man, he seemed like a nice person.

"That's sounds good." He giggled a little. "Thanks, Mr. Shizuo!"

Tsugaru flinched a bit at the name, looking over towards the other. His gripped had tightened upon the instrument.

"Actually, my name is Tsugaru..."

It was not his fault. Shizuo was a very popular person. It was easily trademark of the blond's to have blond hair and a tall disposition. He continued along towards the court building wearing his slightly tampered mood upon his shoulders.

Toshio sputtered a bit of gibberish, scurrying in front of Tsugaru and bowing at a ninety degree angle repeatedly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" he apologized over and over. "Y-You two l-look a lot alike! A-and I haven't s-seen you around before! S-So I just th-thought...Wah! I'm so sorry!" he whined.

He was a bit curious as to why the two of them looked alike. Were they relatives or something? He would as, but it didn't seem like now would be too goo of a time to ask. Maybe later when they were inside.

Tsugaru stared at him a moment in surprise before he smiled gently, setting a hand upon the boy's shoulder. "Set your mind at ease, Shizuo is my cousin. It is only natural that you would confuse us for one another. We tend to be confused for one another often."

He didn't like that fact, but there was no use in being bothered overly much about it. Family was family, it did not define who he was as a person, it merely made life much more interesting rather than monotonous.

He continued towards the court building, looking over to the boy. "Have you ever played an instrument before?"

Toshio flinched a bit when he felt a large hand on his shoulder. Oh no! Was Tsugaru going to push him down or something? Was he mad? His thoughts calmed down when he heard the man's words. He looked up at him and nodded.

The boy blinked a bit and tried to recall if he ever knew how to play one before. His results came up blank. "I don't think I have... My daddy also promised to teach me...um...I forgot the name, b-but it's a reeeeeally big thingie! It looks like a really big stick with silver buttons a-and you blow i-into it through a really small piece of bamboo! It started with a 'B' though!" he prattled, trying to remember the name of the instrument.

Tsugaru nodded, a bit surprised at that. "That's a shame. It's actually quite soothing to play an instrument. We'll have to perhaps teach you how to play the shamisen. If you would like to."

He wasn't going to force the other, but it might be something fun for him to do.
