Shizaya Canon Evidence

EVIDENCE THAT SHIZAYA IS CANON :stopsign:

Is Shizaya canon? I have found evidence that indeed proves that Shizaya is indeed canon. Let's start with Izaya first.

Izaya, himself is a complex character. First of all, many fans acknowledge him as a "sociopath." Let me make this perfectly clear: Izaya is NOT a sociopath. There are signs that may suggest such a claim but Izaya is human himself. He may consider himself a "god" to his humans but he still has emotions which a sociopath wouldn't normally have. Izaya has empathy and it may seem he has no conscience for Izaya only goes by which side will come to his advantage. Izaya likes to put his humans through the most unpleasant of situations and likes to pull the strings. When he meets Shizuo, Izaya can't put him under his control...

... and Izaya HATES this.

Yet, Izaya finds a thrill in pushing the blonde's buttons. He knows he can't control the situation around Shizuo and he finds this entertaining. When he hears Shizuo yelling, "IZAYAAAAAAA!!!!!" he knows that Shizuo is unpredictable and Izaya finds the chase exhilarating. Therefore, Izaya develops a complex over Shizuo; In other words, it's an obsession.

The two have already been involved with their daily lives and without the other, they would both die from old age. Nothing can kill them except each other and if their lives went on without the daily occurrences that they usually get, the two would be bored out of their freaking minds.

Shizuo is about almost as complex as Izaya. Out and about in Ikebukuro, Shizuo works and never loses his self control. Izaya is unique to Shizuo for he's the only person Shizuo cannot keep his self-control. Shizuo can't stand being robbed of that self control; It is unforgivable and he hates Izaya for robbing him of that...

... or Shizuo thinks he hates Izaya.

Shizuo knows that's not the man himself he hates(well, kind of to his dislike towards Izaya) but his own restraints and his inability to keep from harming the innocent when Izaya is in a 3 mile radius. He doesn't hate Izaya, just as Izaya doesn't hate Shizuo; They both just hate the effect the each has on the other.

Shizuo hates his utter lack of inhibition and Izaya hates his loss of control. When the two clash, monsters are made. They're passion in the rawest form and how they attempt to get it out of their systems is irrelevant. No matter what happens it will never change; As long as Izaya draws breath, Shizuo will still hunt him down and as Shizuo's short fuse remain intact, Izaya will continue to push his buttons.

The two can not exist without the other. Both have the power to end the other's existence but they won't for they are both obsessed with their daily routine and doing so will take away their purpose for existing.

With that conclusion, that is Shizaya.

A few added points: Izaya claims he has no interest in relationships with anyone, yet he continues the one he has with Shizuo. Shizuo is his only real relationship (even if it is just trying to kill each other), and as the story line progresses we do see evidence of Izaya having emotions. As a result I think he would cling to the only trrue relationship he has. Shizuo.

Likewise the first thing Shizuo said to Izaya was "You piss me off". How could he hate Izaya when he didn't know him? Now I've heard of love at first sight, but not hate at first sight. My theory is Shizuo felt something he didn't like and interpreted something he didn't understand as hate. He didn't know what he was feeling and THAT part annoyed him. He then attributed the annoyance he felt with hate for the person in front of him. Izaya.

All of that is very true, Izaya definitely has feelings for Shizuo, but i guess he doesn't understand them. Shizuo feels like he hates Izaya, but he really doesn't.

Shizaya is beautiful XD absolutely magical XD LOVE has 4 letters and so does HATE soo they are bound to each other with their immense hatred for each other or in other words love for each other. Your theory is spot on XD i ship them sooo much! in episode 3 when i first saw shizuo throw a trashcan at izaya i was like OMG SHIPPED TOTALLY SHIPPED :DD well in my mind i screamed that to myself X3 also it said in like in episode 24 that izaya had a shizuo complex or something like that XD also izaya is the only one who can put up with shizuo's temper and shizuo is the only one izaya can't manipulate soo like a good relationship where you don't like control your partner because thats just wrong... i've read somewhere and it said "Shizuo fell in love Izaya the moment he said im not afraid of you" and i was like NOSEBLEED :DD worth it XD

well....i have nothing against Izuo...its just makes more sense if it was shizaya to me XD no offense or anything but..... god i feel like a pervert..... well its just that when u do 'intimate stuff' and the uke usually grabs onto the the neck or digs its hands forcefully into the back of the seme's back from the pain of 'entering'....well if it was izaya doing it to shizuo he would be fine...but it it was shizuo holding on...well first of all izaya is not that strong...and would not be able to hold shizuo's weight (we all know shizuo can hold izaya's weight...) and shizuo's strength would most likely break his spine in half...and i don't think shizuo can control it...specially when his mind is clouded with 'intimate thoughts' dammit! i feel like a pervert explaining this XD how do i even know this stuff!? T^T XD lol well this is only my view of it... and i usually base seme off height too soo ya...but i don't disagree with your choice its just that i don't really get it XD whatever now im rambling XD

i know it won't help i wasn't planning on changing your point on who should be seme or uke ^^ yaoi is beautiful in every form....well i don't ship real life males but thats a different topic....i like Izuo i have nothing against it but just to me i think shizaya makes more sense no offense XD oh and lol u remind me of my friend at school XD shes my only yaoi fangirl friend...the rest of my friends shun us XD in a friendly manner...my friend said one day that she was going to ship everything...at first we thought it was just anime and we were right.....but then it slowly went downhill....like really fast...when she meant everything....she meant literally everything...it didn't even make sense anymore.....but she just kept shipping literally everything...it got to a point when we would slightly moved away from her when she said "I SHIP COWS AND CHAIRS TOGETHER!" and thats when knocked her on the head....thank goodness it was only a 2 week phase XD

I ship everything so I don't hurt anyone's feelings. Like my friend ships Dota-Chin X Shizuo or Tom X Shizuo and I go along with it because I don't mind it. My OTP though is Shizuo X Vending Machines XD lol jk
