Physical appearance:
Nikolai has shaggy dark brown hair where his bangs tend to fall in his eyes quite often and that falls just above his chin. He tends to keep it in a style that almost looks like a more organized version of bed head. His eyes are an icy shade of blue that are an open door, to those actually looking, to how he is actually feeling. He is tall standing at 6'1" and is fit but not overly so just enough to tell that he stays active.

He is rarely seen without a form fitting hoodie on. The only times he doesn't wear one is if he's going swimming or it's extremely hot out, and in that case he usually still carries it with him. He also has a habit of having headphones in his ears when he is thinking so it is easier to block out things around him so he usually has it with him.

Personality:
Nikolai is very outgoing and loves to meet new people. Sometimes he comes off as a goofball and he honestly doesn't mind that. He enjoys seeing others smile and does what he can to make others happy. He puts other's happiness above his own no matter what the case. He has a habit of not wanting to upset others so he tends to do whatever it is that will make them happy, even if it makes him unhappy in the end. Due to this he has been called a push over many times throughout his life and he has yet to deny it.

His biggest worry and fear is that he is just one big disappointment to others. It is one of the reasons he does so much for others and puts their feelings above his own. He has always been incredibly self-conscious, even if it might not seem like it. He always had been looking for the approval of others in nearly every single way.

He has a habit of hiding how he feels from others, mostly when he is upset about something. He acts like everything is fine and goes on with his life. If someone was actually looking they could tell exactly how he was feeling if they looked into his eyes. He knows this and is why has a habit of avoiding someone's gaze when he knows they are looking for it, wither it be by not looking at them or hiding behind his bangs or hood of his sweatshirt.


Background:
Nikolai grew up in a family that didn't have much. Even with having struggled growing up he didn't let it put him down. He was still a lively and outgoing kid. Even when kids at school would make fun of him he would just laugh right along with them or even make his own jokes about the matter. He knew he didn't have much and it didn't bother him. He was happy just having his family.

Starting when he was in school, Nikolai was not happy with himself unless he came out on top or he was the best at something. He didn't like others to know that it upset him but it still bothered him. It was a trait that would always stay with him. The original reason behind it had been that he wanted to prove himself to his parents. His family was the most important thing in his life and typically all he had since they moved around more often then he would have liked.

As he grew up he found that he wanted to spend more time with his father and his older brothers. Every weekend he would go out with them in the woods and go hunting. He was never quite fond of it but he dealt with it so he could spend time with the other males in the family. He became quite the marksmen after several years even though he wouldn't quite brag about it. He would rather sat there in the woods with his sketchbook with his headphones in his ears and sketch the scenery. Instead he would put his headphones in, turn the music on low and go out into the woods with his father and brothers.

When his family told him they were moving yet again he packed up his things and let them lead him to their next destination, which he was told would be the last time they'd move. Now here in Ikebukuro he hopes that things will go well and that it will actually be the last time his family moved around.

Sample Roleplay:
The bright sunlight that typically beat down was being blocked by a tree's leaves, casting shade down over the grass where Nikolai sat. It was a beautiful day out and the male had decided that it would have been a waste to stay indoors. He might have just been leaning up against the base of a tree but he wasn't just sitting there. He was slowly sketching away a the paper in his lap as music filled his ears. The park seemed to be a great landscape for him to draw and was glad that he had discovered this early on.

He was new to the city but that made him want to memorize his surroundings as quickly as he could. The best way he felt he could do so was by walking around. He knew he had to be careful with all the rumors he had heard on the streets but he hadn't come across any of the things he had heard about quite yet. Sure he had seen people wearing color coordinated clothing but they hadn't bothered him so why get worried about nothing just yet? Besides he was more focused on the paper in his lap then the people around him. The music playing through his ear buds were the one thing that was keeping his mind completely focused on his work at hand. Anytime he needed to focus or think he would always listen to music since it was the only thing that would let him completely concentrate or keep his mind clear of other things.

A smile came across his face as he nearly finished the work. The only thing that was missing was the couple that was sitting on a bench not far from where he sat. He looked up at them and quickly took in their features, memorizing all he could. He was about to start working again before a drop of water hit his page. He jumped slightly before looking around, not seeing a cloud in the sky. This confused him until he could hear a slight laugh. He pulled one of his ear buds out of his ears before listening to the sound again. Blue eyes turned up towards the tree branch in surprise as he saw someone sitting in the tree. Well that he was not expecting. He wondered who it could possibly be or why on earth they were up in the tree in the first place. Maybe he would find out soon enough.
